The 7.3inch e-Paper (E) from Waveshare is based on E Ink Spectra 6 (E6) full-color e-paper technology, featuring a resolution of 800×480 pixels. 7.3inch e-Paper (E) communicates via SPI interface with onboard level-shifting circuitry, compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels, and supports mainstream controller boards including Raspberry Pi, Jetson Nano, RDK X3, Arduino, and STM32. Utilizing microcapsule electrophoretic display technology, 7.3inch e-Paper (E) requires no backlight, delivers clear visibility under ambient light with a viewing angle of >170°, and retains the last displayed image even after power removal. The technology is based on four-color charged ink particles (red, blue, yellow, and white) that migrate under electric fields to achieve full-color display.
7.3inch e-Paper (E) display performance includes 2 grayscale levels, a full refresh time of approximately 25 seconds, and a viewing angle of >170°, closely resembling traditional paper. 7.3inch e-Paper (E) power consumption is extremely low: refresh power < 70mW, sleep current < 0.01µA, and the display retains content after power-off, making it ideal for battery-powered and long-term static display applications.
7.3inch e-Paper (E) uses a 3-wire SPI / 4-wire SPI communication interface with onboard level-shifting circuitry, compatible with 3.3V and 5V logic levels for easy integration with various controller platforms. The HAT version features a standard 40-pin GPIO header for direct connection to Raspberry Pi series boards, Jetson Nano, RDK X3, and more.
Two versions are available: bare screen (7.3inch e-Paper (E)) and module with driver board (7.3inch e-Paper HAT (E)). 7.3inch e-Paper (E) bare screen measures 170.20×111.20×0.91mm for direct embedded integration, while the HAT version includes a driver board for easy connection to development boards.
