L298N Motor Driver Module Product Overview
The L298N motor driver board is a cost‑effective dual‑channel motor driver module built on L298N chip. It can drive two DC motors or one 4‑phase stepper motor simultaneously for single‑chip microcomputer systems. Equipped with power filter circuit and heat sink, it delivers relatively large output current to realize forward, reverse, speed adjustment and stop functions. It is a popular hardware component for smart car and robot projects.
L298N Motor Driver Module Key Features
The L298N motor driver module adopts a dual H-bridge architecture for independent control of two DC motors with forward, reverse, brake, and stop functions, or to drive one stepper motor. It supports a wide motor voltage range of 5V to 24V (recommended) / 35V (maximum), compatible with 6V, 9V, 12V, and 24V motors. Each H-bridge delivers up to 2A continuous output current and 3A peak current. The module supports PWM speed control via the ENA/ENB enable pins. The onboard 78M05 regulator provides 5V logic supply when the motor voltage is ≤12V; for motor voltages above 12V, an external 5V logic supply is required. The module features large filter capacitors and high-speed Schottky diodes for back-EMF protection. Operating temperature ranges from -25℃ to +130℃. The module includes a power indicator LED and motor status LEDs (red for forward, green for reverse).
