ESP8285N08 Advantages and Highlights
The ESP8285N08 is a highly integrated SoC solution in Espressif's ESP8266 series with embedded Flash. Its core advantage lies in the single-chip integration of a processor, Wi-Fi, and 1MB embedded Flash. Compared to the traditional "ESP8266 + external Flash" approach, this embedded Flash design significantly simplifies PCB layout, saves board space, reduces external component count, and lowers BOM cost.
1MB Embedded Flash, Simplified PCB Design: The ESP8285N08 integrates 1MB Flash directly inside the chip package, eliminating the need for an external Flash chip and simplifying hardware design.
Tensilica L106 Processor, up to 160MHz: Powered by a 32-bit Tensilica L106 processor running at up to 160MHz with RTOS and FreeRTOS support.
Low Power for Battery-Powered Devices: Supports Deep-sleep mode (20μA) and Shutdown mode (below 5μA), with 2ms fast wake-up.
Mature Software Ecosystem & Compatibility: Espressif provides a complete ESP8266 RTOS SDK and non-RTOS SDK. Fully compatible with ESP8266 source code.
