ESP32-S0WD Product Overview
ESP32-S0WD is Espressif single-core IoT SoC in QFN-48-EP exposed pad package, 5×5mm. Equipped with Xtensa LX6 single-core MCU, integrated full 2.4GHz WiFi 802.11 b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.2 dual-mode RF, 520KB SRAM. It integrates RF balun, PA, LNA and power management circuit. Full peripherals available, compatible with ESP-IDF & Arduino, ideal for cost-sensitive IoT wireless projects with moderate computing requirement.
ESP32-S0WD Key Features
The ESP32-S0WD features an Xtensa® single-core 32-bit LX6 microprocessor running at up to 240MHz. On-chip memory includes 448KB ROM, 520KB SRAM, and 16KB RTC SRAM. The chip does not include embedded Flash and requires external Flash/SRAM via the QSPI interface (supports up to 4×16MB).
The ESP32-S0WD supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) with 802.11n data rates up to 150Mbps. It supports A-MPDU and A-MSDU frame aggregation and 0.4μs guard interval. Output power reaches up to 20.5dBm, with receiver sensitivity down to -98dBm. It supports Bluetooth v4.2 including Classic Bluetooth (BR/EDR) and BLE. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth share the same antenna with a built-in coexistence mechanism.
The ESP32-S0WD provides up to 34 programmable GPIO pins. Digital interfaces include SD card, UART, SPI, SDIO, I2C, LED PWM, motor PWM, I2S, IR, pulse counter, capacitive touch sensor, ADC, DAC, and TWAI® (compatible with ISO 11898-1, CAN Specification 2.0) .
The ESP32-S0WD features fine-grained clock gating, power-saving modes, and dynamic voltage scaling for power management. Operating voltage range is 2.3V ~ 3.6V, with temperature range of -40°C ~ +125°C. TX current is 240mA, and RX current is 95mA.
The ESP32-S0WD supports Secure Boot and Flash Encryption, with hardware accelerators for AES, SHA, and RSA. It supports Station, SoftAP, and Station+SoftAP modes, with antenna diversity and Beacon auto-monitoring (hardware TSF) .
