Espressif ESP32-PICO-V3 System-in-Package (SiP) Module Dual-Core 240MHz 4MB Flash QFN-48
ESP32-PICO-V3 Product Overview
The ESP32-PICO-V3 is a highly integrated System-in-Package (SiP) module from Espressif Systems, part of the ESP32-PICO series. Based on the ESP32 (ECO V3) chip, it seamlessly integrates an Xtensa® dual-core 32-bit LX6 microprocessor, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2 BR/EDR and BLE, 4MB SPI Flash, and all critical peripheral components (crystal oscillator, filter capacitors, RF matching network) into a single QFN-48-EP (7×7mm) package. ESP32-PICO-V3 simplifies complex RF design to the extreme — ESP32-PICO-V3 requires only an antenna, LC matching circuit, decoupling capacitor, and an EN pull-up resistor to function.

ESP32-PICO-V3 Key Features
ESP32-PICO-V3 features an Xtensa® dual-core 32-bit LX6 microprocessor running at up to 240MHz. On-chip memory includes 448KB ROM, 520KB SRAM, and 16KB RTC SRAM. The package integrates 4MB SPI Flash for firmware and user data.
ESP32-PICO-V3 supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n, up to 150Mbps) and Bluetooth v4.2 BR/EDR + Bluetooth LE. ESP32-PICO-V3 provides up to 31 programmable GPIO pins, with 5 strapping pins, 2 pins connected to the in-package flash, and 6 input-only pins. Compared to the earlier ESP32-PICO-D4, ESP32-PICO-V3 adds an extra GPIO20 pin.
ESP32-PICO-V3 integrates a rich set of peripherals, including SPI, I2C, I2S, UART, ADC, DAC, touch sensors, SD/MMC host, Ethernet MAC, PWM, RMT, TWAI, and more. Operating voltage range is 3.0V ~ 3.6V, and temperature range is -40℃ ~ +85℃. ESP32-PICO-V3 measures just 7.0×7.0×0.94mm in a QFN-48-EP (7×7mm) package. ESP32-PICO-V3 also supports AES, SHA, RSA hardware accelerators and a True Random Number Generator (RNG).
ESP32-PICO-V3 Applications
With its ultra-compact size, high integration, and low-power consumption, ESP32-PICO-V3 is especially suited for space-constrained or battery-powered devices:
Wearable Electronics: ESP32-PICO-V3 is used in smartwatches, bands, fitness trackers, AR/VR headsets
Medical Devices: ESP32-PICO-V3 is applied in portable monitors, health trackers, smart thermometers, continuous glucose monitors (CGM)
Sensor Nodes & IoT: ESP32-PICO-V3 is used in environmental monitoring, smart sensors, asset trackers, industrial sensing
Smart Home & Consumer Electronics: ESP32-PICO-V3 is found in smart plugs, smart lighting, remote controls, voice assistant front-end modules
Education & Prototyping: ESP32-PICO-V3 supports ESP32-PICO-V3-ZERO-DevKit projects, Arduino Zero-compatible development
ESP32-PICO-V3 Advantages
The core advantage of ESP32-PICO-V3 is its "ready-to-use" System-in-Package (SiP) design. By integrating the Espressif ESP32 chip, 4MB Flash, and all critical peripheral components into a single QFN-48 (7×7mm) package, this SiP solution significantly simplifies PCB layout, saves board space, reduces external component count, and improves system reliability. ESP32-PICO-V3 only requires an antenna, LC matching circuit, decoupling capacitor, and an EN pull-up resistor to function.
In terms of performance, ESP32-PICO-V3's dual-core LX6 processor at 240MHz provides ample computing power. The 4MB in-package Flash offers generous storage for code and data. ESP32-PICO-V3 supports dual-mode Bluetooth (Classic + BLE) and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi ensuring broad wireless compatibility. The -40℃ ~ +85℃ industrial temperature range makes ESP32-PICO-V3 suitable for diverse environments.
Moreover, because ESP32-PICO-V3 integrates all peripheral components, developers are freed from complex RF design and external circuit debugging. This not only greatly simplifies the hardware design process but also effectively reduces supply chain complexity and improves management efficiency. For IoT products requiring miniaturization, rapid time-to-market, and high reliability, ESP32-PICO-V3 is an ideal solution.
